​​​James 5:16 - Confess Your Sins

​

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
 

Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
 

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
 

I Ken Williams want to set a good example to everyone who reads this as the scripture in James 5:16 clearly tells us to confess our sins to each other and to pray for one another that we may be healed!​

To start with, I would like to begin by confessing some of my childhood sins as hopefully I may encourage some children who are going through or considering doing the same things as I did!

​

The earliest sins that I can remember committing working up too my teenage years are:

 

Climbing on the school roof, setting fire to the primary school bin, starting fires up the woods and down the beach, throwing stones at people, smashing windows of old derelict buildings with a pellet gun and catapult, throwing stones at the street lights and smashing them, smashing glass bottles on the beach, setting fireworks off in the village, setting air bombs off and throwing bangers at peoples doorsteps and then running away, trespassing, stealing apples and peas in the pod from people’s gardens, stealing milk form off people’s doorsteps, knocking on people’s doors and running away, playing postman’s knock and dare, double dare, love, kiss or promise, sex with the girls. Playing with the Ouija board, using a red fortune teller fish and a paper fortune teller - Origami (salt cellar, or cootie catcher), in school, throwing my litter in the street, up the woods and down the beach, poaching fish in the river, foul hooking fish and fishing without a rod fishing licence, riding my pushbike with under inflated tires, speeding, no lights and not signalling, disobedient to my parents, stealing money from my dad's jeans pockets, stealing from my dad and mum’s money savings tin in the kitchen cupboard, shoplifting and smoking tobacco/cigarettes. Bullying children in school and in public places. Being cheeky, rude and nasty to the head master, school teachers, staff & pupils. Lying to the head master, teachers, staff, & pupils. Stealing from the school tuck shop. Disobeying the head master and going to areas where pupils were banned from. Playing truant (mitching school and classes). Disobeying teacher and school staff. Blaspheming people and calling people nasty names.

This confession of sins is from when I was sixteen and over:

​

 Driving a car on a public highway without a licence and insurance, driving my motorcycle with bald tires, no insurance, no tax or MOT, speeding, pulling wheelies, alcohol and drug driving, alcohol misuse, drug abuse including smoking marijuana, taking cocaine and amphetamine, ecstasy, LSD, magic mushrooms, DF’s and dexys midnight runners, drug dealing, drug smuggling, burglary, stealing, gambling, working and claiming benefits and rent rebate, watching horror films and immoral programs on tv and the internet, listening to rock music, masturbation, fornication, anal sex, using sex toys, groping women, viewing porn (including bestiality), reading my horoscope in the newspaper, seeing a fortune teller, celebrating halloween, the occult, sorcery, Idolatry and witchcraft, freemasonry, abominable, addiction, apathy, argumentative, bigotry, backbiters, boasters, calling people a fool, cheating, chronic lateness, coarse joking, covetousness, criticism, debate, depression, anxiety, defiler, divorce, emulations, fearful, heresies, homosexuality, hypocrisy, implacable, inventors of evil things, lasciviousness, lawless, lust, lying, bearing false witness, maliciousness, ungodly, malignity, materialism, negativism, neglecting God’s word, neglecting prayer, no concern for the lost, no faith, no trust in God, non-repentance, not honoring my father and mother, not loving my neighbor as myself, occult involvement, passivity, pornography, prejudice, pride, perjuring, procrastination, profanity, quenching the Holy Spirit, rebellion to authority, resentment, revellings, seditions, selfishness, slander, sloth, speaking obscenities, vanity, variance, whisperers/gossipy, without natural affection, without understanding, whoremongers, worry, workaholic, wrath, perjurer, rude, hatred and arrogant, insolent, depraved mind, evil, greed, depravity, sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and drunkenness, fraud, covetousness, wicked, malicious, envy, deceit, whisperer, backbiter, slanderer, using foul language, hater of God, despiteful, proud, boaster, covenant breaker, unmerciful, unkind, unthoughtful, untrustworthy, liar, blasphemer, cheat, con, swindler, malice, orgies, idolater, theft, drunkard, reviler, evil passions, evil desire, evil thoughts, murder, sensuality, alcohol & drug parties, lawless, filthiness, foolish talk, crude joking, coarse jesting, adultery, coveting, wickedness, sorcerer, disobedient, ungodly, unholy, profane, homosexual thoughts, enslaver, quarreling, anger, hostility, disorder and not paying my bills and debts, lust, gluttony, sloth, inappropriate sexual desire, false worship, blaspheming  God's name, blasphemy, cursing, violating the Sabbath, dishonoring parents, cursing my father and mother, obscenities, unbelieving, uncleanness, unforgiving, unrighteousness, ethnicity discrimination, homophobic, racism, holding grudges, justifying wrong attitudes, putting my desires first, feeling annoyed over the success of others, getting hurt easily and reacting out of the hurt, turning up to work late, skiving on the work I am being paid to do, coming back from my break late, taking extra cigarettes break, stealing from my work place, leaving work early,  criticizing and finding fault, focusing on the cares of this world,  gossiping or speaking unkindly of those not present, swearing, enmity, rivalries, lover of self, lover of money, abusive, ungrateful, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lover of pleasure, faithless, attempting to be selfrightious, detestable, strife, maliciousness, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, foolishness, ruthless, perversion, haughty eyes, lying, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that made haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, one who sows discord among brothers. I neglected the poor, widows, orphans, blind and the lame! I also repent for the sins of my heart and thoughts and all my unknown sin's as well!

I have two previous convictions for burglary.

 

In Luke 22:46 Jesus told His disciples not to fall asleep as they may fall into temptation as they slept. So, it looks like that it might be possible to sin while we are asleep!
 

There is another statement made in the Old Testament that mentions burning a sacrifice for our unknown sins that we are not aware of, that we have committed! See Leviticus 5:17-19

I have publicly confessed my sins, so please pray for me to be healed. Thank you!

So, if you decide to repent of your sins and confess them to God The Father, please remember to tell Him that you are sorry for the sins of your heart and thoughts and all your unknown sin's as well!

We've all sinned

 

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
 

What does the bible mean by telling us that we have all fallen short of the glory of God?
 

Basically, it is telling us that we have all sinned in some way or other and God is a pure and Holy God and we need to be pure and holy to have fellowship with Him!
 

I was born a man! I was born a sinner! I have sinned through my life because I was born a sinner! I did not become a sinner the first time I stole something! We were all born sinners! You did not become a sinner the first time you sinned. You were born a sinner!
 

I need to be punished for the sin’s that I have committed, so God The Father sent His only begotten Son, The Lord Jesus Christ who came into the world to die in my place by taking the punishment that I deserve. Now I need to pray to God The Father and tell Him that I have accepted the punishment that Jesus took in my place and ask for His forgiveness!

Advice On Confessing Your Sins!

 

If you decide to confess your sins. Be careful how you go about it! When I first became a Christian, I joined a local fellowship and called upon the elders of the fellowship and confessed my sins to the elders of the fellowship! Its good advice that if you decide to become a Christian to join a local church or fellowship and confess your sins to the Vicar, Elders or Pastor!

 

Also, for example, when I confessed to burglary, I did not mention where I burgled. When I confessed to fornication, I did not mention who with or what we did together! You only need to confess your sins. There is no need to give details about what you actually did and who with!

 

I am now a forgiven sinner! Thanks be to The Lord Jesus Christ!
